Bar Harbor & My Dad

So a week ago my Dad was rushed to the ER for another gallstone attack. When he got there he had to get a few other tests. Turns out he had pancreitis. Thankfully it was an inflammation rather than an infection. This means he would have to stay in the hospital hooked up to IVs until it went down. This bummed him, my mom and us kids out. We had planned a week getaway with the fam to Bar Harbor, Maine, as we do every year now. We rented a gorgeous condo, thanks to mom and dad. Unfortunately we were almost convinced Dad and Mom weren't able to make it. So we prayed. I stayed with Mom while dad was in the hospital and helped with carting her to and from. In just a couple days the inflation went down and Dad was on his way to remove his gallbladder! We were able to make it up to BH Weds evening and I drove most of the 5 hrs. Turns out my wonderful brother-in-law Phil rented out the place until Monday. So that was even better because we could stay longer and Jared could come up on Friday night instead of not at all since he had Monday off.

Yep, Ruby is the little chunker on the right with the green pants. Although in this pic, her and her cousin Ella look like twins.
Addie enjoyed herself incredibly! Especially playing with her cousin Liam.When we got home she was asking for Liam and Lily..I felt bad because she missed them. But that is why these family vacations are so special for the little ones.
We watched fireworks on the 4th right on a deck where we ate dinner. It was beautiful! But Addie wasn't sure about it at first. Than came the protection of Daddy, and everything was all better..And here is our little pumpkin in Grandma's arms...What a great memorable week!
